Car Seat Safety Clinics

Did you know that many car seats in use are installed incorrectly? 

Having a car seat that is properly installed is essential in ensuring your child’s safety.  Torrington Police Department is now offering child safety seat inspection appointments by our Certified Child Safety Seat Technician on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Before scheduling your appointment, make sure you have the following information:

YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL of the vehicle the car seat is being installed in

MANUFACTURER, MANUFACTURE DATE, MODEL NUMBER, AND SERIAL NUMBER of your car seat

It is important that you attempt to install the car seat prior to your appointment. 

The Car Seat Safety Clinic is not meant to be an installation service.  Instead, our goal is to educate the parent/caregiver on the proper way to install the car seat and provide you with the tools to know how to check the car seat to ensure your child is safe each time you use it.
