In 2010, the detective division also acquired a grant that enabled us to train and purchase metal detectors that can be used on land as well as underwater. This grant also allowed detectives to purchase a forensic drying cabinet in an investigator's ongoing attempts to minimize contamination and maximize the use of physical evidence.

The vice/narcotics unit is also part of the Detective Bureau as they work toward not only arresting those that possess illegal drugs, but linking the drugs to their origin.
